Design for a garden that changes through the year

A garden is never one finished image. The same border can be structural in winter, fresh in spring, full in summer, and transparent in autumn. Planning that change means connecting site conditions, planting combinations, materials, suppliers, maintenance, and the way each space should feel over time.

Use named Regions for the entrance, border, terrace, containers, or different parts of the site. Alternatively, create Regions for spring, summer, autumn, and winter to compare how structure, flower, foliage, and seed heads carry the design through the year.

Reference Board generates descriptions and detects dominant colors and visible text. OCR can recover plant names from labels, nursery signs, and saved pages. Add custom tags such as shade, pollinator, dry soil, late summer, structural, or low maintenance; learned suggestions make your own planting vocabulary quicker to reuse.

Find plants and palettes from an impression

Search across boards in natural language for “soft purple flowers in shade,” “airy grasses for dry soil,” or “evergreen winter structure.” Color filters help compare planting palettes, while similar-image suggestions let one useful combination lead to related textures, forms, and seasonal effects.

Because search works across the reference library, a plant saved for an earlier project can become useful again when the right site arrives. You no longer need to remember the board name, filename, or nursery page to recover the idea.

Keep the garden plan useful after presentation day

Share a board through iCloud when a client or collaborator needs the current direction. Export a PDF or PNG for a proposal, planting discussion, or project record, and use widgets to resurface saved plants and combinations as the real garden develops.
